Create an Email Address in your Plesk Control Panel
All of Fifth Gear Hostings' web hosting packages come with a robust number of email accounts that you can create with your web sites plesk control panel.Below are instructions for creating an email account on your domain.
Step 1 - Logging into your web sites plesk control panel
When you signed up for your web hosting account you received an email containing information needed for you to login and manage your web site. It is vital that this information be kept in a safe place for your reference only.This email would have contained a link to your web sites plesk control panel. It would look something like:
https://yourdomainname.com:8443/
Replace "yourdomainname.com" with your actual web sites web address. This link will take you to a secure web page that will display a login screen similar to the one below.
You will need to enter the username/login name and password you selected when you set up your web hosting account. This information is contained in the welcome email you received after setting up your account.
Step 2 - Selecting your domain name
Once you are logged into your web sites control panel you will be presented with a screen that looks similar to the following:
Located near the bottom of this screen you will see your domain name listed. In this example we see demo.fifthgearhosting.com. If you had more than one website then you may see a list of domain names here.
To create an email account we first need to select the domain we want to work with. Place your mouse pointer on the domain name and click once with your left mouse button.
Step 3 - Create the new email account
Once you have clicked on the domain name that you wish to create the new email account on you will see a screen with icons similar to the picture below. Find the "Mail" icon and click on it.Once you have clicked on the "Mail" icon you will see a screen like the one below. If you have any email addresses already set up on the domain you will see them listed here. If you needed to change a password for an email account you can do that by selecting the email address from the list and editing its preferences.
To create a new email address click on the "Add New Mail Name" icon. This is will take you to a screen that will require you fill in some information about the new email address.
In the "Mailname" enter to the first portion of the new email address. For example if you wanted to create the email address info@demo.fifthgearhosting.com then you would only enter "info".
Next you will want to enter a password in the "New Password" field.
Note: This password can not contain any of the words in the mailname field.
You will have to re-enter the password in the "Confirm Password" field. Once you have re-entered the password you will want to make certain there is a check mark beside "Mailbox". If you also want to activate the SPAM protection for this email address place a check mark beside "Enable SPAM Filter"
To complete the process of creating the new email address click "OK". You will be taken back to the mail menu where you will be able to see the new email account listed.
